Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is seeking "forgiveness" from his family after the birth of a daughter outside of his 21-year marriage.

"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage," Grohl, 55, wrote in a statement shared on social media Tuesday.

"I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her. I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness," the statement continued. "We're grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together."

Grohl's reps declined further comment.

The former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters founder has been married to Jordyn Blum since August 2003, and the two largely keep their relationship private. They have three daughters together: Violet, 18; Harper, 15 and Ophelia, 10.

In one of their most recent public appearances, Grohl and Blum attended the Wimbledon Championships in London in July.

The family of five had a rare outing at last year's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles after Nirvana received special recognition from the Grammys for their "creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording."

In February 2023, Pat Smear, Krist Novoselic and Grohl were presented with a lifetime achievement award during the Recording Academy’s Special Merit Award ceremony.

The rockers wrapped their Everything Or Nothing at All Tour, in support of their 2023 album "But Here We Are," last month.
