Britney Spears fans are revisiting her 2003 song and music video for "Everytime" after she revealed in an excerpt from her upcoming memoir that she had an abortion while dating Justin Timberlake.

The pop star, 41, claimed in her upcoming memoir "The Woman in Me," set to debut on Oct. 24, that she became pregnant while dating Timberlake, 42, and he requested she terminate the pregnancy, according to excerpts published by People Tuesday.

Spears and Timberlake dated from 1999 until 2002 in their early adult years.

In the song "Everytime," which has long been speculated to be about the "Cry Me a River" singer, Spears croons, "And every time I try to fly, I fall / Without my wings, I feel so small / I guess I need you, baby / And every time / I see you in my dreams / I see your face, you're haunting me / I guess I need you, baby."

Is Britney Spears' 'Everytime' music video about her abortion?

The music video, which premiered in 2004, concludes with Spears walking through a hospital room with two women: one who has just died and another who has just given birth.

The song from her album "In the Zone" has long been speculated to be about Timberlake as well as Spears' struggles with fame during their relationship, however, fans believe Spears' revelation brings new meaning to the song.

"The HORRIBLE news about Britney’s abortion bc of Justin Timberlake just took Everytime music video to a whole new view. She deserved better," one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Another wrote: "The baby in the Everytime music video was the baby Britney felt forced to abort. My heart."

Other fans pointed out that the song resembles a lullaby.

"In Britney Spears song #everytime she sounds like a lullaby and she says 'My weakness caused you pain, and this song's my sorry,' 'I guess I need you baby'… could it be about her and Justin Timberlake's pregnancy they terminated?" a fan speculated.

Another social media user said the song "has such a new meaning now. It being a lullaby saying how she needs her baby."

"Justin definitely wasn't happy about the pregnancy. He said we weren't ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young," she wrote, according to the outlet.

She continued, "It was a surprise, but for me, it wasn’t a tragedy. I loved Justin so much. I always expected us to have a family together one day. This would just be much earlier than I’d anticipated."
