Fans of hit reality show "Queer Eye" have been keeping an eye on what Bobby Berk, the show's resident interior designer, is planning for the future after he announced his departure from the show in November to pursue other projects.

One of those projects, according to a recent Instagram post on his page, may be working with none other than Gypsy Rose Blanchard, who was released from prison in December after conspiring with her then-boyfriend Nicholas Godejohn to kill her abusive mother in 2015.

In a video posted to the platform on Monday, Berk offered up his expertise in a message aimed toward Blanchard, saying in part, "If you're not Gypsy Rose, keep scrolling, because this is just for Gypsy Rose."

Berk went on to reference Blanchard's viral comment from November, in which she responded to comments about her new husband with an innuendo. Jokingly, Berk responded to the comment, saying: "Gypsy, I do agree with you, the D is fire. Fire design,” he said.

Getting more serious, Berk said he could "only imagine how crazy it's been transitioning from prison bars to an actual home that is yours," referencing Blanchard's recent prison release after serving eight years in the killing of her mother, who subjected a young Gypsy to years of medical, emotional and physical abuse in a suspected case of Munchausen by Proxy.

On "Queer Eye," Berk's job was redesigning the homes or businesses of each episode's subject, helping them to transition into a new phase in life with a newly designed space.

"I just thought, there’s too many coincidences for me to not help you design your home,” Berk said, referring to the fact they have both lived in Springfield, Missouri, the most recent season of Queer Eye filming in Anderson in Louisiana, where Blanchard now lives, and the fact that he designed the home of actress Joey King who played Blanchard in the dramatization of her story called "The Act."

"Bottom line, your home should reflect who you are and who you've become and who you've grown as a person and I would love to offer my design services to come help you make your home just that," he finished. "So hey, hit me up, slide into my DMs, let me know."

Fans respond

Reactions to Berk's post were mixed, leading to bickering amongst fans in the comments section.

Multiple comments announced that they would be "unfollowing" Bobby after the message, calling it "cringe," or accusing Berk of seeking attention.

"Ok this was cringe. Follower lost," one comment read, to which Berk responded simply with a "peace out" emoji. Berk likewise responded to another comment, which said "Unfollow...murder is neve okay [sic]. But Carry on," with a message defending Blanchard, saying, "She did her time and paid her debt girl. Everyone deserves a second chance. I’m also going to assume you’ve not seen 'The Act.'"

"She don't [sic] deserve it," said another. "Great publicity for you, but give that to someone more deserving and that really needs it."

However, some fans also flooded the comments with support, praising Berk for his "kindness."

"You know what? This is the kindest thing and even though she’s on the news and interviews and all that, she is still a very young person who had incredibly difficult life, who went from abuse to prison," said one. "She does deserve a space that helps her grow, reflect, and blossom."

Multiple commenters called it a "collab" they are excited to see, with some noting they hope it will be filmed similarly to the redesigns seen on the "Queer Eye" show.

"Just when you think you couldn’t love @bobby anymore, he does this. So generous and heartwarming," said others.

Berk has not posted any updates on the situation since Monday and it is not clear if Blanchard has seen to the video.
