Reactions to Elly De La Cruz's inside-the-park home run in Reds-Brewers game
Cincinnati Reds phenom Elly De La Cruz hit an inside-the-park home run during the bottom of the 7th inning of Monday's series-opening win against the Milwaukee Brewers at Great American Ball Park, going from home to home in 14.96 seconds, according to the team.
It was the first inside-the-park home run of De La Cruz's big-league career, and the Reds' first inside-the-park homer since TJ Friedl hit one last September 23.
It was De La Cruz's second homer of the game, and second of the season. He hit one 450 feet off the batter's eye in the 5th inning.
De La Cruz is the first Red to homer from both sides of the plate in the same game since Javier Valentin on July 17, 2005.
