Las Vegas Raiders signing ex-Dallas Cowboys WR Michael Gallup
The Las Vegas Raiders are continuing to add more weapons.
Ex-Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup is expected to sign a one-year, $3 million deal with the Raiders, a person familiar with the situation confirmed to USA TODAY Sports. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because they aren’t authorized to discuss the deal.
ESPN first reported Gallup’s one-year pact.
Gallup was among USA TODAY Sports’ top 20 free agents available.
The 28-year-old wide receiver spent the first six years of his career with the Cowboys. In 2019, Gallup had career-highs in both catches (66) and receiving yards (1,107). However, Gallup hasn’t had a season with more than 60 catches and 1,000 yards since.

Dallas released Gallup in March to clear $9.5 million in salary cap space after the wideout had 34 catches and a career-low 418 receiving yards in 2023.
How Michael Gallup fits with Las Vegas Raiders
The seventh-year receiver is best suited as a second or third receiving option.
With Davante Adams firmly entrenched as the No. 1 wide receiver and Jakobi Meyers as the second wideout option, Gallup will likely be the third receiver in Las Vegas.
The Raiders needed a third receiver after they released slot man Hunter Renfrow this offseason.
Gallup spent most of his time out wide in Dallas but can be used as a slot receiver.
The Raiders also have tight end Michael Mayer and rookie tight end Brock Bowers, whom the team drafted No. 13 overall in the 2024 NFL draft.
The biggest question question surrounding the Raiders offense, however, is who will start at quarterback between Aidan O'Connell and Gardner Minshew? Las Vegas averaged under 200 passing yards per game last season, which ranked 23rd in the NFL.
