The final game of the NHL playoffs' second round is going to Game 7.
The Edmonton Oilers will visit the Vancouver Canucks Monday night with a trip to the Western Conference final and a meeting with the Dallas Stars at stake. That series will start on Thursday in Dallas.
Whoever wins Monday's game will continue a bid to become the first Canadian team to win a Stanley Cup total since 1993.
The Oilers won 5-1 in Game 6 at Edmonton, but neither team in this series has won two games in a row.

Why the Oilers can win Game 7
Their stars had big performances in Game 6. Connor McDavid had three assists after getting one point in the previous three games. Zach Hyman scored to end a three-game drought. Leon Draisaitl had two assists and has at least a point in all 11 playoff games. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard each had three-point games.
Goalie Stuart Skinner is rested. He sat out Games 4 and 5 and wasn't tested much in Game 6. He stopped 14 of 15 shots.
Strong penalty killing: The Oilers are 11-for-11 against the Canucks in the last three games.
Why the Canucks can win Game 7
They're the home team. They can get the matchups they want with the last line change. The Stars and Bruins won the 2024 playoffs' previous two Game 7s as the home team.
Goalie Arturs Silovs: He, like Skinner, has never played in a Game 7. But he faced that pressure before, helping Latvia win bronze at the 2023 world championships., the country's first medal. He was named MVP of that tournament.
They also have strong penalty killing: The Canucks have gone 8-for-8 in the last two games.
