Video shows deer crashing into bus in Rhode Island injuring 3: Watch dramatic scene unfold
Commuters on a bus in Warwick, Rhode Island experienced an up close and personal encounter with nature Monday afternoon when a deer crashed through the windshield of a bus.
A video released by the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority captured the collision and its aftermath.
The video shows the bus traveling south on Warwick Avenue shortly after 3:10 p.m. when a deer darts out into the busy street and leaps through the front windshield. A second camera shows passengers being showered with shattered glass as the stunned and injured deer rolls around on the floor.

Passengers injured in crash, deer did not survive
Six passengers were riding the bus at the time of the incident. Two were taken to a hospital for minor injuries from the glass breaking, according to Warwick police Capt. Charles Boisseau. A third passenger went to the hospital on their own.
The deer died on the bus soon after the collision and was removed by the state Department of Environmental Management.
RIPTA’s interim CEO, Christopher Durand, issued a statement commending driver Leocadio Hernandez “for his exemplary response to this unique situation.”
